Our fellow parishioner Kaye Arnold is currently volunteering in Cambodia, teaching English and dental hygiene to school children. She has attended mass at a church where the priest was barefoot and the congregation sat on the floor. She lives at the school. When she ventures out, sometimes she finds herself surrounded by buffalo. She seems to enjoy the cuisine, more or less, but has come across rather exotic dishes such as eel.

Our Solomon Islands community led the singing at mass on 4 September. They are seasonal workers in the region's wine industry, most of whom will return home for the year shortly. The Gospel is processed in escorted by a group of warriors in traditional costume. As they approached the altar, a spear-wielding warrior challenged them in the fashion early Christian missionaries were challenged in the islands.
